Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of sea cucumber ginger coffee on behavior and libido of the Swiss Webster male mice (Mus musculus L.), which has given a health drink product of sea cucumber ginger coffee (KoTeJa). The research method is descriptive method by giving orally mice beverage products using gavage as much as once a day as prescribed treatment for 12 days. This study consists of five treatment and each treatment was repeated 5 times repetition. These treatment in this study consisted of a negative control (P0); a positive control (P1) using methyl testosterone at a dose of 0.0042 g/kg bw; a second treatment (P2), namely sea cucumbers flour at a dose of 0.0004 g/kg bw in 1 ml water; a third treatment (P3), KoTeJa+sugar+creamer with all combination doses of 0.0074 g/kg bw in 1 ml of water; and a fourth treatment (P4) is ginseng coffee at a dose of 0.0108 g/kg bw in 1 ml of water. Observations of the libido performed on days 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; observations of its locomotor activity conducted on day 7, 8, and 9. Observation of the spermatozoa quality performed on day 12. The data obtained from the study were analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that KoTeJa (P3) at a dose of 0.0074 g / kg bw provide the best effect on the behavior of libido, with an average of 25 times introduction (on the 3rd day) and 39.25 times (on the 5th day), average climbing as much as 6 times (on the 3rd day), and the average coitus 2 times (on day 3), at an average of 86 times loops of locomotor activity (day 7), 108.66 loops (day to 8) and 124 loops (day 9), and an indicators of the quality of spermatozoa normality of 60.60%.
