Abstract

Research on developing algorithms for temperature regulation of coffee roaster has been successfully performed. The specific aim of this research is to build a programing code for setting temperature in coffee roaster tube based on fuzzy logic. Recently, controlling temperature based on fuzzy logic, which is reliable and easy to design without mathematical equations and physical models, has been widely applied in the field of controlling settings. At first, we have designed and built an algorithm to regulate electric voltage on the system. The second part is the testing of electrical voltage regulation system that will be given to the fuzzy logic-based heating element. Finally, we validated and evaluated the built system. Prototype coffee roaster, shaped like a tube, is made from iron sheeting with dimension 9.5 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height. Heating element is utilized a wire-Nikelin 7 ohms with a maximum voltage of 12 volts. Our result showed that the ability of made system is fairly stable to maintain set point with error ± 1C (0.5 %).
