Abstract

This research aims to improve the activity and student learning outcomes through the application of scientific approach. This type of research is classroom action research (classroom Action Research) are conducted three cycles, each cycle through the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were grade students of SDN B I Bengkulu City VA academic year 201 4/201 5. Instruments and data collection techniques used consisted ofstudent activity observation sheet and test sheet in the form of questions test consisting of multiple-choice test items and essays, as well as data analysis techniques using basic statistics, percentage, and t tests. The research results can be summarized as follrrus: the average score of student activity cycle I was 12 with enough categories, the overage score of student activity at 14 second cyclewith good category, and the average score of student activity III by 17 cycles with good category, In thefirst cycle obtained average value of student learning outcomes at 71.17 with 72.72% classical learnirug completeness. In the second cycle obtained average value of student learning outcomes at 76.02 with classical learning completeness 100%. The third cycle obtained Average value of student learning outcomes at 82.95 with clqssical learning completeness of 100%. Based on t test student activity cycle I and cycle II obtained t is greater than t table (3.570 > 2.042), and the t test student activity cycle II and cycle III obtained t is greater than t table (4.898 > 2.042). Wile the t test of student learning outcomes cycle I and cycle II obtained t count is smaller than t table (1.525 < 2.042), and t test student learning outcomes second cycle and third cycle was obtained t is greater than t table (2.633 > 2.042). Based an the results of this study concluded that the application of the scientific approach can increase the activity and student learning outcomes in thematic learning,SDNSl VA class city of Bengkulu.
