Abstract

The purpose of this study was to estimate the theoretical semivariogram parameters with the least squares method. The computer program used was GS+10.0 to find an experimental semivariogram and to determine the parameter values of the Spherical, Exponential, Gaussian and Linear models. The data used are data on earthquake strength in Bengkulu Province from 2000-2016 consisting of 1656 sample points. From the results of the case study, there were obtained 6 Spherical theoretical semivariogram models, 4 times Exponential, 3 times Gaussian and Linear 4 times. The selected criteria from each theoretical semivariogram are based on the Residual Sum Squares (RSS).
