Abstract

A research was done with an objective to obtain an optimum concentration of 6-Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP) and α -Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) for shoot multiplication of Ambon Green Banana. The study was conducted from March to August 2015 in the Laboratory of Agronomy and Biotechnology, Division of Plant Tissue Culture, Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu. Banana explants used in the experiment were globular of green bananas from Balitbu West Sumatra. This experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor was the concentration of BAP consisted of 0; 2.5; 5 and 7.5 mg L-1; whereas, the secondfactor was the concentration of NAA consisted of 0; 0.5; 1; 1.5; and 2 mg L-1. The total experimental unit were 60 units and each treatment combination consisted of 3 bottles and was repeated 3 times so that there were 180 bottles. The results of this experiment showed that there were interaction effects of BAP and NAA on shoot emergence, root emergence, shoot number, shoot length, leaf number, root length, and shoot fresh weight were observed. Application of BAP at 5 mg L-1 without NAA produced the highest number of shoot (7 shoots each explant). Application of NAA at 1.1 mg L-1 without BAP produced the longest root length (9,82 cm). Application of NAA at 1.3 mg L-1 without BAP produced the greatest shoot weight (15.6 cm). The Fastest shoot emergence (0.4 week) and the the greatest leaf number was achieved by application of BAP at 2.5 mg L-1 and NM at 0.5 mg L-1.
