Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of work discipline and teacher dedication on the pedagogical competence teaching teachers in Bengkulu City Vocational High School. The method used is correlational with a quantitative approach. The research sample was 75 teachers of the Bengkulu City Vocational School. Data processing techniques using product moment correlation, determination, and regression (simple and multiple). The results showed that 1) work discipline had a direct positive effect on teacher pedagogical competencies in Bengkulu City Vocational High School by 21.5%; 2) work discipline and teacher dedication together have a direct positive effect on competence of teachers in the State Vocational High School in Bengkulu City by 22.4%; 3) teacher service has a direct positive effect on competence of male teachers in the State Vocational High School in Bengkulu City by 21.4%; 4) teacher service has a direct positive effect on competence of female teachers in the State Vocational High School in Bengkulu City by 18.9%; 5) work discipline and teacher dedication together have a direct positive effect on competence of male teachers in the State Vocational High School in Bengkulu City by 22.6%; and 6) work discipline and teacher dedication together have a positive direct effect on competence of female teachers in the State Vocational High School in Bengkulu City of 18.9; Keywords: work discipline, teacher dedication, teacher's teaching pedagogical competence.
