Abstract

The objectives of the study are : (1) to examining the contribution of emotional intelligence on the interpersonal communication of the principals, (2) to examining the contribution of leadership on the interpersonal communication of principals and (3) to examining both of them simultaneously, the emotional intelligence and leadership. The method of the research is quantitative method an using descriptive type. The population of the study are 72 principals. They are the principals of SMP/MTS and SMA/SMK/MA. There are 61 principals are taken by using proportional stratified random sampling. The instrument of the study is likert model scale. The result of the study states that the instrument are valid and reliabel. The analysis of the data are using descriptive statistics, simple regression and multiple regression. The research shows : (1) there is a significant contibution of the emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication of the principals, (2) there is a significant contribution of the leadership and interpersonal communication the principals, and (3) there is a significant contribution of the emotional intelligence and the leadership of interpersonal communication.
