Abstract

Abstract –This research focuses on student’s English speaking problems and the aim of this research is to find out the most dominant problem in speaking performance faced by the tenth grade of SMAN 6 Bengkulu based on the video of students’ speaking performance. The population of this research is students of SMA 6 Bengkulu. The sample of this research was grade X IPS D of SMAN 6 Bengkulu. The instrument used in this research is table of analysis. The research method used in this research is the descriptive method. The writer use video recording as the tools of data collection. From the analysis findings, psychological problems is the most dominant problem faced by the students of SMAN 6 Bengkulu with mean percentage of 22.5%; lack of confidence 24%, and anxiety 21%. It is followed by linguistic problems with mean percentage of 18%; lack of grammar 34%, lack of vocabulary 4%, and lack of pronunciation 16%. In conclusion, psychological problems is the most dominant problem faced by the students of SMAN 6 Bengkulu. Keywords: Speaking Problems, Linguistic Problems, Psychological Problems
