Abstract

The Expert System for Selection of College Majors Based on Personality and Multiple Intelligences Test Results is a system that can provide recommendations for college majors for students according to their personality and multiple intelligences. In this system, users can perform personality and multiple intelligence tests by answering questions that have been provided on the system. After the user selects and completes all the questions, the system will work to determine each personality and multiple intelligences. The intended personality is based on personality theory in the book Perfect Islamic Psychology by dr. Raaehanul Bahrean which dr. Raehanul took his knowledge from the book Personality Plus by Florence Littauer. In the theory of Florence Littauer, there are four basic human traits which include Choleric, Sanguine, Phlegmatic, and Melancholy. Meanwhile, the intended Multiple Intelligences consist of eight categories of intelligence which include Language Intelligence, Mathematical Logical Intelligence, Image Intelligence - Visual-Spatial, Musical Intelligence, Gesture Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, and Naturalist Intelligence. Each type of personality will be collaborated with types of multiple intelligences to produce 672 combinations of which 672 combinations will produce 168 groups of college majors. The determination of the group of college majors will use the forward chaining method as the inference engine. Based on the results of the test, the accuracy between the results of the manual test and the test with the system for personality types is 76.66% and the results of the manual test and the system test for multiple intelligences is 86.66%. From the accuracy-test on 47 students from each study program at Bengkulu University, which compared their current college majors with recommendations for college majors from personality types and types of multiple intelligences, it was found that 63.83% of students took college majors that were not by their personality. and their multiple intelligences. Testing the functional success of the system using black-box testing of 100%. Key words: Expert System, Intelligence, Personality, Lecture Major Group, Forward Chaining.
