Abstract

This study aimed to determine the application effect of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) model in soil pollution material on science literation ability students of class X SMAN 2 Mukomuko. The research method was quasi experimental with the type of design matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were tenth grade students in SMAN 2 Mukomuko. The sample in this study consisted of 28 students at as an experimental class and 28 students at as control class. The instrument used in this study was a science literacy questionnaire on attitude aspects and a scientific literacy test sheet on aspects of knowledge, context and competence. The data analysis technique in this study was quantitative analysis using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of research Contextual Teaching Learning aspects of attitude for 392, aspects of knowledge for 3.97, context aspects for 5.04 and competence aspects for 4.03 with at the 5% significance level was 1,67. Aspect of scientific literacy shows , it can be concluded that there was effect of the used of the CTL model in soil pollution material on the science literation ability students of class X SMAN 2 Mukomuko
