Abstract
The purposes of this research are to describe the women workers in oil palm plantations, views of the aspects relating to the work ethic that is: values and norms, environmental conditions(geographical), education, individual intrinsic motivation. This research used qualitative descriptive method by utilizing in-depth interview to collectthe data. The participant of this research were obtined by using purposive samping method. The instruments used in gathering the data were obsevation, interview and documentation. Structural Funcitionalism Theory was used as the theorytical framework of sociological analysis on the research problem.activity in the data analysis, which stem from data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The findings in field showed that the informant is casual wonen workers in oil palm plantations have a high work ethic, it is seen from domestic and public activities. As for the aspects relating to the work ethic that women workers. Women workers work time serpeti they still perform the role as a housewife taking care of domestic activities and also they perform public activities that result in economic income families, challenges facing women workers are traveling a slippery and steep, met with animals that could endanger the safety of themselves, sacrifice of women workers that they should die their children who are still in need of attention from parents, and sacrifice their dignity in order to keep their jobs and to supplement their income.
