Abstract

The research aims to examine the former coal mine with different ages as care medium for Pheretima javanica. This research has been conducted in JuneAugust 2016 at Research Ecology and Conservasion Laboratorium (V Building) Biology Departement Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science, University of Bengkulu. The treatment in this research consisted of four treatments and six replications that use not former land of coal mine (TK), former land of coal mine 6 years old (TBB6), former land of coal mine (TBB24), and former land of coal mine 31 years old (TBB31) with that parameter are duration time and successfully live. Data was analyzed by Completely Randomized Design, ANOVA. The results of the research are not significant with average time duration that showed that time duration of Pheretima javanica to admittance soil medium are former land of coal mine (TK) is 2,16 minutes, former land of coal mine 6 years old is 3,19 minutes, former land of coal mine 24 years old is 3,30 minutes, former land of coal mine 31 years old is 3,37 minutes. Successfully live of Pheretima javanica on all type former land of coal mine are significant with average time duration that former land of coal mine (TK) is 47,22% former land of coal mine 6 and 24 years old is 66,67%, former land of coal mine 31 years old is 88,89%, and DMRT test showed that former land of coal mine 31 as effective care medium soil for Pheretima javanica.
