Abstract

ABSTRACT ROLE OF SCHOOL PRINCIPLS AS SUPERVISOR IN IMPROVING TEACHER PERFORMANCE (Qualitative Descriptive Study State Junior High School in 2 Kepahiang) DEDI HARYANTO Thesis, Study Program of Educational Administration Postgraduate Program, Faculty of Education University of Bengkulu 2018: 110 pages This study aims to describe the role of headmaster as supervisors in improving teacher performance in learning planning, implementation of learning, and evaluation of learning. This study used a qualitative approach. The data was collected by interview, observation, and documentation studies as the instruments. Data analysis procedures are data reduction, data display, and verification. The subjects in this study were headmaster, the deputy of headmaster, and teacher. The results of the study show that: 1) the role of the principal as a supervisor to improve the performance of teachers in learning planning is to hold a workshop on the preparation of learning devices at the beginning of the school year. 2) The role of the principal as a supervisor to improve teacher performance in learning implementation, namely: carry out the observasion prosess in the class, analyze the results of the implementation of learning, and improve the quality of the implementation of learning. 3) The role of the headmaster as a supervisor to improve teacher performance in evaluating learning, namely: facilitating of the teacher training in order to be able to carry out learning evaluations according to the 2013 curriculum standards, namely by compiling provisions on the assessment of processes, attitudes and results evaluation.
