Abstract

The aims of this studi is to describe the role of classroom management to achieve learning objectives, especially in social studies learning at State junior High School 6 Seluma, as well as to describe the appropriate classroom management applied by teachers in social studies learning at State School 6 Seluma This type of research is qualitative that uses descriptive approach method. Data collection technique in this research uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques, and uses questionnaires as supporting data extraction. Data collection was conducted from the beginning of the study until the end of the study. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results show that classroom management applied by the teacher in the class on social studies subjects included several things: (1) the application of class rules in Junior High School Number 6 Seluma was well implemented by students with the support of the teacher; (2) Communication between students and the teacher and the communication between students in the class has run as expected by the teacher. In communicating students end up being polite and respectful; (3) in monitoring the completion of assignments by students, the teacher always gives direction and guidance if students experience difficulties; (4) most of the students' motivation in learning is to elevate their parents;(5) in structuring students the teacher always groups students effectively without choosing; (6) in supervising students' behavior in the classroom, the teacher always tries to make persuasive approaches. This is done so students can understand the importance of complying with school rules. Key Words : Classroom Management, Social Studies Learning
