Abstract

Space is an important aspect as a place to interact in life. Interactions in a space can take the form of gathering behavior, education, and also disaster evacuation. In 2018, the FKIP cluster experienced the addition of two buildings. The increase in buildings will have the potential for vulnerability in disaster evacuation if the configuration between buildings with activities in them is not supported by good disaster mitigation. This study aims to obtain an overview of building configurations and their relationship with academic activities in the Bengkulu University FKIP cluster in disaster mitigation efforts. Data analysis used a combination technique between qualitative analysis techniques and space syntax analysis techniques with the help of the Depthmap program. Discussion using descriptive methods begins with qualitative data in the form of studies of physical elements and academic activities, followed by discussion of quantitative data in the form of configuration values between buildings. The results show that the strongest value of global integration is 4,335 and the weakest value is 2,191. The strongest connectivity value is 311 and the weakest value is 14. The value of space performance from simulation results tends to be influenced by accessibility, visual quality, and movement patterns.
