Abstract
River is a stream of water which flows through channels. The water flows from upstream to downstream and end at sea. During that process, the water could settle out the materials from upstream to downstream that ended up sedimentated in the path that it flows. That process is called sedimentation. Riak river is one of river at Bengkulu province which through Seluma district. The problem is because there is a sedimentation in river that causing river can no longer debit accommodate or high rainfall and causing flood around the area. The proposal of this research are to know the quantity of sedimentation, identify sedimentation characteristic and changes of riverbed morphology. The formula which are use to calculating the sedimentation volume is Meyer-Peter & Muller method and SMS 8.1 application. The result of sedimentation volume at Riak river use Meyer-Peter and Muller formula is 132,2775 ton/year. The characteristic of sedimentation at Riak river based on USCS (United Soil Classification System) classification system belong to silt and clay. Meanwhile, if we based on Wentworth scale the sediment is soft mud and the changes of riverbed morphology because of sedimentation at Riak river is clearly at the curve. Sedimentation occur at the inside of the curve while at the outside of the curve occur erotion.
