Abstract

In evacuating visitors, the ladder path is one of the factors that influence the optimization of the evacuation process to ensure the safety of visitors to the building, so an analysis of the physical performance of the building is needed. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by means of case studies on building objects of multi-purpose buildings, which are then described and analyzed to draw conclusions in solving various problems that arise. The results obtained that the condition of the stairs in the University of Bengkulu Multipurpose Building is sufficient to meet the standards, and there are still shortcomings that do not meet the standards, but this can be tolerated because the available standards are not specifically intended for large open layout buildings, but intended for buildings building in general.
