Abstract

Research on the Air Lais Dam located in the KuroTidur Village of North Bengkulu Regency was conducted to determine the rate of sediment transport that flow the Sandtrap in Air Lais Dam, to analyze the efficiency of the Sandtrap, evaluate of the sand trap dimensions and to compare the results of this study with similar studies. The methods used to calculate of sediment transportin this study are the Shen And Hungs method, the Meyer-Petter and Muller method, the Einstein Method, the Van Rjin Method, and the Colby Method. The research from one of the methods are used to design the sandtrap. The result sow that the Meyer-Peter Muller method produces a larger sediment volume value than other methods, so the sedimen volume of Meyer Peter Muller method is used to design the sandtrap. Then the planed dimensions of the sand trap. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between sediment volume and sand trap area is directly proportional, the greater the sediment volume, the greater the sandtrap area needed.
