Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how much the contribution of managerial skills and the ability of school supervisors to the performance of teachers as homeroom teachers of Junior High School in Argamakmur District. This study uses a descriptive method with an associative quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The population used in this study were all junior high school teachers in Argamakmur District with a sample of 63 people. The results showed that (1) there is an effect of principal managerial competence on teacher performance, where is the better the managerial ability of the principal, the better the teacher's performance. (2) there is an effect of the principal's supervisory competence on teacher performance, where is the better supervision ability of the principal, the better the teacher’s performance, and (3) managerial competence and the supervision of the principal simultaneously affect the performance of teachers as homeroom teachers. From multiple linear regression analysis, it is known that the contribution of managerial ability and supervisory ability to teacher performance is 72.3%.
