Abstract
Research was carried out with an objective to determine the quality of organic fertilizer produced from decomposition of several organic matters with decomposers. The experiment was designed in Compeletely Randomized Desing with two factors. The first factor was three kinds of organic matters (palm oil empty buch, paddy straw, and Tithonia diversifolia), the second factor was three kinds of decomposer (Effective microorganism-4_ EM4, Trichoderma harzianum, and Lumbricus rubellus wrom). Macro elements (N, P, K, Ca and Mg), micro-elements (Zn, Mn, and Cu), organic acids (humic, fulvic, lactic, acetic and oxalic acids) and plant hormones (auxin, cytokinin-kinetin and zeatin, and gibberellin-GA3, GA5 and GA7) contents were evaluated for the quality of organic fertilizers. The results of this study shows that interactions between kind of organic matter and decomposer. were found in several observed variables. When palm oil empty fruit bunch was used as organic matter, the best quality of organic fertilizers was obtained when its added with decompose L. rubellus as compared with when added with EM4 or with T. harzianum in almost all quality variables observed. When paddy straw or tithonia were used as organic matter, the best quality of organic fertilizer were found when it was decomposed by using T.harzianum. Earthworm L. rubellus was unable to survive and further decompost when tithonia was used as organic matter We conclude that the best match between organic matter and decomposer are as the following: oil empty bunch by L. rubellus, paddy straw and tithonia by T.harzianum
