Abstract

his study aims to determine how the implementation of learning assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum is carried out by English teachers at a public senior high school in Bengkulu City. The research focuses solely on examining the completeness of the composition of assessment for learning, as, for, and of learning conducted by English teachers. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach as the research design. The sample in this study consists of two English teachers teaching in grade 10. Data collection is conducted through documentation, observation, and interviews. Observation statements and interview questions are developed based on the book "Guidelines for Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education Learning and Assessment" by Aditomo (2022). The results indicate that the implementation of learning assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum by English teachers at this school is in line with the assessment criteria in the Merdeka Curriculum. In the lesson plan, the assessment of learning is comprehensive. Furthermore, data obtained from observations and interviews align with the lesson plan. Consequently, it can be concluded that English teachers have a limited understanding of the meaning of learning assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum. However, this does not hinder the implementation of assessment in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This suggests that despite some lack of knowledge about the concept of the Merdeka Curriculum, the implementation of assessment can still be effective and in line with the curriculum's objectives.
