Abstract
This study aimed to find out the correlation between students' personality and their speaking performance. The research method used in this study was quantitative research using a correlation design. The population of this study was the second semester students of the English program at University of Bengkulu batch 2023/2024. In taking the sample, the researcher used purposive sampling which took all students in class A with a total of 36 students. In this study, the researcher used two instruments, namely a questionnaire and a speaking test. The data were statistically calculated with Pearson Product Moment Correlation. After assessing the students‘ speaking ability, the researcher found that the students’ average speaking score fell into the basic category. When classifying the students‘ speaking average score based on their personality, the extrovert students’ speaking average score was 29.85 and the introvert students' speaking average score was 27.66. Both personalities fell into the basic category. After calculating the data, it was found that t-score (0.220) < t-table (0.349), which means (H1) was rejected and (H0) was accepted. In conclusion, the results showed that there was no significant relationship between students' personalities and their speaking performance. Keywords: Correlation, Personality, Speaking Performance
