Abstract

The population consist of the whole number of English teachers at SMPN 1 Bengkulu. The sample of this study used total sample techniques consisted of 5 English teachers. The data was collected by using observation and interview. There are ten kinds of instructonal media used in this research, they are; tape recorder, picture, real object, resources material, worksheet, duplicate material, games, microphone, song text, and dramatization. The result of this study shown that the resources material was the dominantly as instructional media used by English teachers in teaching. And from the interview results, there are any reasons why the tachers chose the resources material as the dominantly instructional media. The reasons were cause that resources material is more easy to use, easy to get and can helps student in study as long as it does not require any equipment. In other words resources materials are inexpensive instructional media.
