Abstract

This research designed was a descriptive quantitative method, which was aimed to find out the students’ self-esteem in learning English. The population of the research was students at English study Program of Bengkulu University enrolled in Academic year of 2007/2008 which consisted of 165 .The sample was sixty students of the population total by using stratified random sampling technique. The data was taken from respondent by using closed questionnaire as the instrument. The result of the research showed that the students’ self-esteem in learning English at English Study Program of Bengkulu University in academic year of 2007/2008 was high with the total average 3.59.
