Abstract

The objective of the research was to investigate the English teacher’s teaching style used and the dominant of the English teacher’s teaching style used in teaching and learning process at senior high school (SMU N 1) Putri Hijau North Bengkulu. The population of this research was the entire English teachers who taught at SMU N 1 Putri Hijau which were four teachers. The sample of this research was the entire population of English teachers which were employed by purposive sampling. This research used checklist as the instrument to fill in the observation format which was done through classroom observation. The result of the research showed that the variation of voice has 13.63%, focusing on attention has 17.34%, silence has 13.06%, eyes contact has 19.44%, gesture and facial expression has 15.06%, and Changing of teacher’s position has 20.65%. Thus, the dominant of the English teacher’s teaching style that was used in teaching and learning process was Changing of teacher’s Position 20.65%.
