Abstract

The children school age was one of the example of data which contains the censored data, because not all respondents could give complete information about when the school period ended. The research about drop out has been done in many times, but the researches didn’t consider the data of drop out as a censored data. In this research on the data of drop out was considered as a censored data so that it will be analysed by the survival analysis. The purposes of this research were to identify the factors which influence the drop out and look for the suitable model to see the shape of relationship between response or survival time with the covariate or explanatory variable. The dependent variable was the children school age and the independent variable were the type of father’s occupation, the status of mother’s occupation, the degree of father’s education, the degree of mother’s education and the number of the family’s member. The specification of father’s occupation, the degree of father and mother’s education were real influential at risk students will drop out of school. Status of father and mother’s occupation and the number of the family’s member weren’t real influential at the survival time or risk of drop out of school.
