Abstract

Tool post is a very important component on a lathe. tool post function is to chisel or tool holder holder holder. If it is damaged then the cutting tool holder lathe can not be used or worked to cut the workpiece. One type of damage to the cutting tool holder is a crack that occurred during the installation of cutting chisel or tool holder. To repair this damage can be done to improve or design and create a new chisel holder. Chisel holder designed and fabricated by utilizing the existing machine tools in machining workshops such as lathes, milling machines and machining sekrap. In this study the chisel holder made using lathes, milling machines and sekrap. In the process of making this aspect or element machining machining note is the length of time it takes to make a chisel holder. Materials chisel holder is made of cast iron material with a chisel to cut carbide Vidia and the lathe and chisel sekrap HSS for milling and drilling machines. From the results obtained when the total machining process cutting process using a lathe machine, milling and drilling sekrap and to make the chisel holder (tool post) was 208,59 minutes.
