Abstract

This research objectives are to identify the disparity of development and determine the potential sector of each of provinces in Belajasumba Region. This research uses secondary data, collected from BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik/Centre of Statistical Board) in each of the province in Belajasumba Region as the basis of analytical thinking. The analytical tools used are Williamson Index and Klassen Typology. Based on the result of this research: 1) The disparity of development in Belajasumba Region is low or commonly prevalent; And 2) The potential sector of Bengkulu Province are mining and manufacturing sector; The potential sector of Lampung Province is manufacturing; The potential sector of Jambi is manufacturing; The potential sector of South Sumatera province is services sector; And the potential sector of Bangka Belitung is agricultural sector. Result an suggestion of this research is that each province in BELAJASUMBA region should fostering the cooperation in manufacturing industri, based on agriculture.
