Abstract
The object of this research to analysis the effect of government development expenditure and labor force to ward economic growth in Bengkulu Province. The research used a dynamic analysis tool with an Error Correction Model (ECM) as its approach. The data used in the research were secondary data in the form time series from 1985 to 2005. The result of the research show that simultaneously the variable of development expenditure and labor force significantly affected the economic growth, as shown by the statistical test result where the probability of the F value 0.0063 was smaller than α = 0.05. partially the variable of the development expenditure significantly affected the economic growth; whereas, the variable of the labor force did not affect the economic growth of Bengkulu Province statistically. The determination coefficient (R²) of the estimation result was 0.65226. This means that the variation of the economic growth could be explained well by the variables of the development expenditure and labor force for 65,23% and the rest was explained by other factors 34.77%.
