Abstract

This study aims to determine the value of Peak Ground Acceleration(PGA), PGA contour map, and analyze of the level of potential earthquake risk in microzonation using Kanai method by reviewing the value of the dominant period in Coastal Mukomuko, North Bengkulu, Central Bengkulu, and Bengkulu Area. The data of Earthquake from the International Seismological Centre (ISC) and the United State Geological Survey (USGS) for 100 years (1912-2012). Seismogram data obtained using Sensor DS-4A Feedback Short Period Seismometer and TDL-303S Portable Digital Seismograph. The data is then processed using software Geopsy to determine the dominant frequency of the ground. The processing of the data using Microsoft Excel 2007, ArcView GIS 9.2 and Surfer 9. Results of PGA corrected with Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale. The results showed that PGA the greatest value of 645.43 gal located in the Village of Air Petai Beach, the District of Putri Hijau, North Bengkulu, and PGA smallest value is 129.65 gal located in the Village of Koto Jaya 1, the District of North Mukomuko, Mukomuko. The level of potential earthquake risk in most of the study area belong to the risk level Very Big Two and the smallest classified as risk level Big One.
