Abstract

Optimization problem of nutrition in children's food is a problem of cost minimization with respect to meeting optimal nutrition necessity. The purpose of this research is to solve the problems related to the diets consumed in the Zaam Zaam Orphanage, Bengkulu through integer programming approach as a model of choice. The method used is the simplex and branch and bound. Branch and bound method is a procedure for solving a problem by enumerating all the variables through the bifurcation value. However, the solution through simplex method has been obtained by taking advantage of Lindo software. The results showed that the optimal fulfillment of nutritional adequacy in the children of orphanage through integer programming approach tends to give a solution of cost problem more practically than the one using simplex method.
