Abstract

Decision Support System is designed to support all phases of the decisionmaking ranging from identifying problems, selecting relevant data and determining the approach used in the decision making process to evaluate the selected alternatives exist. The method used is AHP (Analytical Hierarcy Process) to assist students in determining a suitable area of interest for students is usually done at the end of the 5th semester. Interests in the field determination by Students of Mathematics department of University of Bengkulu, there are several factors that a valuation. This assessment is based on the assessment of courses supporting areas of interest. The aim of this study is to adjust the student's decision-making in selecting areas of interest in mathematics by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, wherein each of the criteria in this case courses the linear programming, numerical method, linear algebra, algebraic structure, statistical method, introduction to the theory of chance, mathematical statistics I and mathematical statistics II. and alternative in this case mathematics and statistics. This decision support system helps to assess each alternative and criteria and the weight values change. It is useful to facilitate decision-making on issues related to the selection of areas of interest in mathematics and statistics, so we will get the best interest areas in order of priority. Results of the analysis of alternative areas of interest are presented show students that mathematics is a priority in choosing areas of interest, subsequent statistical.
