Abstract

This paper is intended to know how far the impact of AID, foreign direct investment, and domestic saving on Indonesian economic growth. In generally, this study to analyse that explanatory variables as individual correlation.Data are taken from several publication issued by BPS, International Financial Statistic for the years of 1983 – 2002. Multiple regression is used to analyse that problem. And the regression result is DGDP = 2,118678516 – 1,465873451DAID + 0,5843665091DFDI + 0,2598923016DS – 1,989095942BAID – 0,8281564673BFDI – 0,7662360341BS + 0.9910107088ECT From F-test, collectively, we can say that the foreign debt (AID), foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic saving (DS) are influence the Indonesian economic growth. From t-test, individually, FDI and DS have significant impact on Indonesian economic growth. But we have one variable is not significant, that is the AID. This condition may be the negative transfers of AID. It is mean that new foreign debt is used to repay the other foreign debt. So, it is crucial problem to reoriented with the project which funding from AID.From the partial regression coefficient of X of 0,469 means that holding all other variables constant, the economic growth goes up by about 0,469 % for every 1 % increase in FDI. And the partial regression coefficient of X 1 of 0,101 means that holding all other variables constant, the economic growth goes up by about 0,101 % for every 1 %increase in domestic saving.3
