Abstract

The need for electrical energy from renewable energy is very high one by developing a type of power plant with wind turbines as a prime mover. Wind turbine is a tool used as a renewable energy power plant. The wind turbine is designed using 3 blades made from PVC with variation of 20o
, 25o, and 30o
blade angle blades (r = 1 m) generator on wind turbine having
maximum power specification 180 Watt with 12 Volt power
supply and electric current strength 15 Ampere. Wind turbine
testing was tested above with an average wind speed of 7,01 m / s
at an angle of 20o
, with rotation of blades reaching 244 rpm ;
average wind speed 7,10 m/s at 25o
angle with rotation reaching
291 rpm ; while the wind speed is 7,06 m/s at an angle of 30o with
the highest turn reaching 316 rpm. This is because the slope
angle of the blades that received the wind can affect the sweep of
the blade. Average wind velocity on output power, where the
lowest yield at an angle of 20o with a wind speed of 7,01 m/s
generate power 1,03 Watt ; at an angle of 25o with a wind speed
of 7,10 m/s generate power of 11,23 Watt ; the highest power at
an angle of 30o with a wind speed of 7,06 m/s generates power of
12,71 Watt. The smaller the angle of the slope the smaller the
power generated.
