Abstract
This research was aimed to determine microhabitat, population density, and distribution
pattern of nests/holes of antlion (Myrmeleon sp.). It was conducted for three months, started
from August until Oktober 2010 in Tambakrejo and Argamulya village. Microhabitat was
analyzed descriptively, and the data of nests/holes hole distribution was analyzed by using
the Chi-square test. As the result, there were 43 microhabitats of antlions in both villages (24
microhabitats in Tambakrejo and 19 in Argamulya village). The highest density of antlions
was in Tambak Rejo village, it was 128 larva/microhabitat with the total of larva between 0- 1432 individuals, while in Argamulya village was 67.1 larva/microhabitat with the total of
larva between 0-384 individuals. Statistically, by using Chi-square test, it was showed that
distribution pattern of antlion’s nest was significantly different. The more far from the point
centre, the fewer number of the holes found.
