Abstract
This research employed descriptive research. The objective of this research
was to analyze the implementation of the lesson plan (RPP) by using the KTSP
curriculum in teaching English at SMPN 16 in Bengkulu city. The objects of this
research were three English teachers who teach students at grade 8D, 9F, and 8A at
SMPN 16 in Bengkulu city. This research uses two instruments which were
observation and interview. The result of three class meetings of each English
teacher in teaching English to see the teacher’s implementation of the teaching and
learning activity in classrooms, for 40 minutes for each meeting. The research used
an observation checklist to classify teachers’ component RPP based on Jacob
(2008). The result of the interview English teachers to find out the implementation
of RPP by using the KTSP curriculum in teaching English. Most of the teachers'
KTSP curriculum has been implemented nationally to meet the national standard of
education, learning goals, a meaningful application, student reflection and
assessment. But there are still some criteria that are not implemented by the teacher
such as student participation, classroom discourse fostering a community,
appropriate use of technology and variety.
