Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe (1) Forms of continuous professional
development (2) Impact of continuous professional development on increasing
professional competence (3) teacher constraints in carrying out continuous
professional development. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with
data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the
data obtained, it can be concluded (1) Continuous professional development by
teachers is mostly in the self-development component, whereas in the scientific
publications and innovative work components, only a few teachers do it (2)
Continuous professional development has a good impact on increasing
professional competence (3) Constraints from teachers are lack of motivation, low
knowledge, time, limitations of teachers in using technology and school policies.
