THE SLANG WORDS USED IN THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: SALAZAR'S REVENGE SCRIPT FILM

This research explores the type and meaning of slang words in film script. Slang,
often reflecting the dynamic and evolving nature of language, serves as a vehicle for
character development, authenticity, and relatability in cinematic narratives. By examining
a number of popular films from various genres, this research identifies common slang
terms, their origins, and contextual usage. This analysis reveals how slang contributes to
depictions of social identity, group membership, and cultural trends, highlighting the
interaction between language and social context. Furthermore, the study investigated
audience reception, taking into account factors such as age, cultural background, and
familiarity with the slang used. These findings underscore the importance of slang in
enhancing realism and engagement in films, while noting potential challenges in cross�cultural translation and interpretation. This research contributes to a broader sociolinguistic
understanding of media, by emphasizing the role of slang in shaping contemporary
cinematic expression and its resonance with diverse audiences.
