Abstract
This quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate the impact of Wordwall.net
games on students' understanding of the passive voice. The research sample
consisted of 53 students from the English Education Study Program at the Faculty
of Teacher Training and Education, University of Bengkulu. These students, who
were enrolled in Introduction to Functional Grammar courses during the 2023/2024
academic year, were divided into an experimental group of 20 students from class
4C and a control group of 33 students from class 4B. Data were gathered using a
valid and reliable test comprising 30 passive voice exercise items by Robert Krohn
(1971). Prior to the treatment, the data were tested for normality and homogeneity.
The significance of the difference between the two groups was determined by a sig.
2-tailed value of 0.001, which is lower than the threshold of 0.005, indicating a
statistically significant difference. This result led to the acceptance of the alternative
hypothesis (H1). The findings demonstrated that using Wordwall.net as an
instructional tool effectively improved the fourth-semester students' understanding
of the passive voice.
