Abstract
The aims of this research is to find out the correlation between students’
reading habits and academic reading achievement of English Education Study
Program at Bengkulu University. This research used a quantitative
correlational design and employed SPSS application version 30. Participants
in this research were second semester students of the English Education
Study Program. The result shows that there is no significant correlation
between students’ reading habit and their academic reading achievement, as
indicates by a Sig. value of 0.096 > 0.05. The correlation coefficient (r-count)
was 0.170, indicating that it falls within the 0.00 – 0.20 range and is
interpreted as very low correlation. In summary, having a good reading habits
is not necessary lead to high reading achievement.
