Abstract
This research aimed to explore students’ perceptions of using Spotify to improve
their English pronunciation. A quantitative descriptive method was applied, using a
structured questionnaire as the main data collection instrument. The participants
were 57 sixth-semester students from the English Education Study Program at the
University of Bengkulu. The findings revealed that most students had a positive
perception of using Spotify in learning pronunciation. They believed that Spotify
was helpful, easy to use, and motivating in their learning process. Spotify’s features
such as song lyrics, repeat function, and access to native-like pronunciation helped
students practice pronunciation more effectively. In addition, the involvement of
sensory elements like hearing, sight, and touch supported their understanding and
repetition of English sounds. However, it was also noted that not all students learn
in the same way, and Spotify may be more effective for some than others. Overall,
students viewed Spotify as a beneficial supplementary tool to support formal
learning in improving English pronunciation.
