SOCIETY VALUES IN “ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND BY LEWIS CARROLL” NOVEL

This is a descriptive qualitative research. Which aims to find out and explain the society
values in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland novel by Lewis Carroll and investigate
whether there are Indonesian young age education values applied in the novel. In this
research, researcher collected the data by using documentation (library research). The
procedure of data analysis are finding the data, classifying the main character, analyzing
society values, analyzing the Indonesian young age education values, drawing the
conclusion and giving suggestion. The results of the study showed that 4 the society
values, they were humanity, social relationship, family and morals. Besides that, the
researcher also found 4 Indonesian young age education values applied in the novel, they
were curiosity, hard work, politeness, and independence. The researcher also linked
the similarity of society values with Indonesian young age education value. In conclusion,
from the results of the study it was found that there was a similarity between the society
values in the novel and the Indonesian young age education values , they were humanity
and morals which had relation in meaning with politeness.
