Abstract
Phytochemical studies of secondary metabolites have been conducted including flavonoids, terpenoids, steroids,tannins, and saponins on Sargassum gracilimum and Caulerpa racemossa. The results show that terpenoid, steroid, flavonoid and saponin compounds on Sargassum gracilimum were detected, while polyphenol/tannin compounds was not detected. Steroid, terpenoid and saponins have been detected in Caulerpa racemossa (Frosskal.) J. Agardh, but flavonoid and polyphenol compounds were not detected.
