PENGARUH PEMBERIAN GETAH BUAH PEPAYA (CARICA PAPAYA L.) MUDA TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH MENCIT (MUS MUSCULUS BALB/C)

This research was aimed to investigate the effect of unripe Carica papaya fruit latex on blood glucose of Mus musculus BALB/C). The reseach was conducted from July to
November 2008, using Completely Randomized Sampling design with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Mice samples were treated by glucose as much as 0.3 g/kg bw in order to made they were hyperglycemic, then their blood glucose were measured after 24 hours. The control group (T0) were gavaged with aquadest and the treatments were devided into 4 groups. Each group were gavaged with Carica papaya latex as much as 0.6 g/kg bw (T1), of 0.8 g/kg bw (T2) and 1 g/kg bw (T3). The results showed that there were significantly different between treated mice and control, and also among treated mice. The dosage of 0.8 g/kg bw was more effective to decrease the blood’s glucose of mice better than others.
