Abstract

The mangrove forests in the Long Beach and Pulau Baai are a Nature Tourism Park (TWA) areas that are indeed very beneficial for the sustainability of Bengkulu City's life. They can be an alternative source of economic income for fishers in Sumber Jaya Village, Kampung Melayu District, Bengkulu City. The natural beauty of the mangrove forest with its charming natural panorama of the sea has become a unique attraction for tourists, especially young people. Maritime tourism is a very strategic opportunity for improving the welfare of the community around the mangrove forest, especially to the development and growth of small businesses that are appropriate to the scale of the location and ecological preservation for mangrove forest ecosystems. This study aims to explore the aspects of mangrove forest protection that are included in the Long Beach and Pulai Baai Nature Tourism Parks in Sumber Jaya Sub-District, Kampung Melayu District, Bengkulu City and offer a model of marine tourism management in the context of protecting mangrove forests by the Sumber Jaya sub-district community. The results of the study are marine tourism management models in the context of protecting mangrove forests by the people of Sumber Jaya Sub-District, Kampung Melayu District, Bengkulu City, namely applying the utilization model of Mangrove Forest Marine Ecotourism Management which consists of 3 principles namely co-ownership; cooperation / co-management and co-responsibility.
