Abstract

Hydraulic Pumping Unit (HPU) is a pump that uses a hydraulic system, which at the time of operation may result in 0.1135 fluid (water, oil, and gas). This type of pump was in use in 2009 as a replacement dragon pump that needed large power to use it. According to data obtained from known fields, diameter (d) is 0.0762 m, length L is 1.324 m, p1 is 37.5 psi, μliquid is 0.001 kg /m.s, μgas is 0.000018 kg/m.s, Qliquid is 0.03407 m, Qgas is 0.007950 m, ρliquid is 998 kg /m, and ρgas is 1.20 kg.m3, and Z is 6 m. The initial value of the pressure drop (∆Pf) equal to 0.856 psi caused pressure drop the second value (∆Po) 7,297, so the total pressure drop (∆Pt) is of 8.153 psi. Thus once calculated, the pressure on the output side (discharge) amounted to 29,347 psi pressure due to a decrease of the initial pressure of 37,5 psi pump. According to results, it can be concluded that the type of Hydraulic Pumping Units (HPU) used are ideal because the value of the pressure drop is small
