Abstract
The research had been done to know the influence of vermicompos to the growth and production of shallot crop Allium ascalonicum, L. to know the influence of vermicompos to the growth and production also compared them of shallot crops to media that vermicompos mixed and didn’t since July to October 2008 that took place at wire house of Basic Science, Biology Department, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Bengkulu University. The research used Completely Random Design method with 6 threatments and 4 times repeating, which were : V0 = without vermicompos, V1 = 300 g vermicompos, V2= 600 g vermicompos, V3 = 900 g vermicompos, V4 = 1200 g vermicompos, V5 = 1500 g vermicompos with total planting media volume much 4000 g. The data that reached was analyzed by using analysis of varian and continued by using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) on 5% level because F counted > F table. Based on the research result reached that vermicompos gave influence that concreatly different with treatments by using vermicompos. Media without vermicompos showed the lowest result for each of the parameters which were; the leaf length 32.6 cm; number of bulbil dry weight of bulbil each of theme were 5 cloves and 11,8 g; total dry weight 18.2 g. For media that used vermicompos, the highest result for each of parameters reached by adding 1500 g vermicompos for each polibags. The leaf length was 47.8 cm; number of bulbil were 10 cloves; dry weight of bulbil was 36.1 g and total dry weight 44.9 g. The highest shallot crop production reached on addtioning vermicompos 1500 g vermicompos for each polibag which was 9.02 tons/ha and the lowest production for without vermicompos treatment which were 2.95 tons/ha.
