Abstract

This research aims to find out the students difficulties in listening comprehension when doing the TOEFL test. The subject of this research was the seventh Semester Students of English Department at IAIN Bengkulu academic year 2018/2019. There were 17 students who had a low TOEFL score that was the subject of this research. This research was using descriptive quantitative as the methodology and the data was collected by using questionnaire and interview as an instrument of this research. The questionnaire consisted of 27 items in seven categories of listening difficulties which was adapted from Hamouda (2013). The interview consisted of two questions. This research used simple statistical (percentage) to analyze the data. The result shows that the students found it difficult in all of seventh categories. The highest percentage is physical setting (80.85%) and the lowest is listener (65.01%) Keywords : Students Difficulties, Listening comprehension, TOEFL preparation.
