Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out students' perception in using TikTok to help their English learning. This research is designed as descriptive quantitative research. The population of this study was 57 students fifth semester students of English Education Study Program of University of Bengkulu who actively use TikTok application. The sample of this study was 57 students who were selected from the total population. This research shows that the aspects used by the students are using attractiveness (3.2 / positive), effectiveness (3.0 / positive), relevance (2.9 / negative), and motivation (2.9 / negative). It can be concluded that of the four aspects of perception used by students in English language learning the positive effect by students is Attractiveness is Effectiveness. Finally, the aspect that can make all of this effective in all aspects is to encourage students to use the TikTok application as a learning tool, because it can be accessed anywhere at any time. Furthermore, the content that is displayed can provide enough information for a short duration, so that students can easily understand the content presented. Then encourage students to often watch English-language learning so that algorithms follow what is frequently watched. Keywords: Perception, TikTok, Supporting Learning English
