Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the distribution of cognitive processes embedded in the tasks of the “Work in Progress” textbook designed for 10th-grade students, as per the “Kurikulum Merdeka” by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia. Employing qualitative content analysis, tasks were analyzed using the taxonomy table and Operational Verb list proposed by Stanny (2016). Data collection involved categorizing tasks based on the revised Bloom's Taxonomy, focusing on cognitive processes such as remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The result indicated a varied distribution of cognitive processes, with remembering accounting for 27%, understanding 13%, applying 10%, analyzing 16%, evaluating 26%, and creating 8% of the tasks. Furthermore, the study revealed that the textbook predominantly features tasks at the remembering and evaluating levels. Keywords: Cognitive Processes, Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, Task, Textbook.
